Central GST official arrested with middleman in Rs 8 lakh bribe trap in Bengaluru

Lokayukta police apprehended a Central GST official accepting a bribe. Mohit Pratap Singh and his agent Salman Sheik were arrested by the authorities. The official had demanded twenty lakh rupees to close a false tax evasion case. He finally agreed to accept eight lakh rupees from a businessman. The bribe money was seized from the official inside his office.
