Bhopal reports first swine flu death: 45 patients found in 12 days, total cases at 65, testing only at AIIMS.
Bhopal has reported its first death from swine flu (H1N1) this year. Ram Singh, an 80-year-old man who was admitted to a private hospital, died due to severe respiratory illness caused by the infection. He had pre-existing heart disease, high blood pressure, and type-2 diabetes. So far, 65 swine flu patients have been identified in the city, with 45 of them, or approximately 70% of the cases, reported in the last 12 days. Currently, H1N1 testing is only being conducted at AIIMS in Bhopal.
