The impact of the creation of the Ratapani Tiger Reserve is that there are now 15 tigers near Bhopal and Raisen; previously, there was only one. Some have even established their own territories here.

The forests along the Bhopal-Raisen border, adjacent to the Ratapani Tiger Reserve, where not a single tiger was found in the 2022 census, have now recorded movement of more than 15 tigers. According to the forest department, easy prey and sufficient food in areas bordering the forests are the primary reasons for them staying there.
