Following the implementation of the central government's new Waqf law, the first FIR in Madhya Pradesh has been registered in Bhopal regarding a case related to Waqf property. The case pertains to an illegal textile market that has been operating for 20 years on approximately two and a half acres of land belonging to the Waqf Board, located opposite Hamidia Hospital. It is alleged that Darul Shafqat Society had been renting out the space to around 200 traders since 2006 without obtaining permission from the board. Agreements were made, but there was no record of earnings.
