In Dewas, 2000 patwaris (revenue officials) staged a 8.5-hour protest on Wednesday. The protest was in opposition to service termination, suspension, and other actions. The demonstration took place from noon to 10:30 pm at the collector's office. The patwaris remained in the premises, chanting slogans. When the collector did not arrive, they staged a sit-in at the gate, and bhajan-kirtan and the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa were also performed. The protest ended at 10:30 pm. The rally proceeded from Swastik Garden to the collector's office.
