A dog shelter home with a capacity of 2000 will be built in Kolar: Dogs will be relocated from 840 sites like schools and colleges.

The municipal corporation is taking a major step to address the threat of stray dogs in the capital city. The location has been selected and a dog shelter home will be built in Kalapani, Kolar. Tenders have also been issued, and construction is expected to be completed within 2 years. This shelter home, which will be built on approximately 1 acre of land, will have a capacity to house 1,500 to 2,000 stray dogs. Indore already has a facility with a capacity for 3,000 dogs.
