Banda liquor scam: 28 deaths, 14 accused arrested; Congress says administration is hiding the numbers, de-addiction campaign in over 100 villages.

In the villages of Banda and Shahgarh development blocks in Sagar, approximately 28 people have died after consuming spurious and toxic liquor. Several patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals. However, the administration has confirmed 24 deaths so far. In response to this case, the police and administration have devised a strategy to dismantle illicit liquor networks and take action against those responsible. The administration has now initiated action at three levels, including door-to-door surveys, community meetings (chaupal), and legal proceedings.
