For the first time, a gender-affirming bottom (sex change) surgery has been performed at AIIMS Bhopal. The operation, which lasted approximately eight hours, involved modifying the genital structure of a transgender individual who was initially identified as male at birth. AIIMS claims that this is the first such surgery performed in any government hospital in the state. The patient's condition was satisfactory after the operation, and they were discharged from the hospital. The patient expressed happiness with the results of the surgery.
