In Raisen, the heavy rush of passengers on Raksha Bandhan led to violations of safe travel rules in buses. On Friday, buses traveling to Sagar, Bhopal, and Indore were filled more than capacity with passengers. 42-seater and 52-seater buses saw between 60 to 100 passengers on board. After the seats were full, passengers had to stand near the aisles and doors while traveling. Several passengers were even seen risking their lives by hanging from the bus gate.
