Sahara's large 'chit fund' mafia arrested: Accused of defrauding people of ₹45,000 crore, apprehended in Lucknow; had been absconding since 2020 in 20 cases.

The Gwalior Police Administration's Special Police Team has achieved a major success in arresting the absconding chairman of Sahara India Group Society, who is involved in a massive fraud of ₹45,719 crore, from Lucknow on Tuesday. The accused was presented before the Consumer Commission on Wednesday. The arrested accused is Khalid Chaudhary, the president of Saharyan Universal Multipurpose Cooperative Society (Bhopal), who had been absconding continuously since 2020.
