The NSO survey report indicates that Madhya Pradesh has the second-lowest unemployment rate in the country after Gujarat. However, despite this, those seeking work are still finding employment in Madhya Pradesh, which is lagging behind in terms of earnings, although their wages are lower than the national average. According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) report by the National Statistical Office (NSO), there are only 1.5 unemployed people out of every 100 job seekers in the state, while this figure is 3.1% nationwide. In this context, only Gujarat has a lower rate at 0.9%.
