City faces power cuts, angry villagers block highway: The Indore-Bhopal highway was blocked for 5 km, but the situation was resolved after assurances from officials.

Villagers in Barkhedi protested on the Indore-Bhopal four-lane highway on Tuesday against the unscheduled power cuts in the rural areas of Sehore district. The villagers blocked the road, causing traffic jams on both sides for about 5 kilometers. The villagers were upset with the daily 2 to 3 hours of power cuts during Navratri. Administrative officials assured them that there would be no unscheduled power cuts from the next day.
