On Wednesday morning, chaos erupted in the Raisen district jail when Neelesh Thakur, an undertrial prisoner in a murder case, shot and killed Digvijay Singh Tomar, a prison guard. The accused had reached the jail gate with a country-made pistol and was asking the guard for the key to open the main gate. When the guard refused to give him the key, a scuffle ensued between them, during which the accused opened fire. The bullet hit the guard in his waist.
