For the past 7 days, 400 ration shops have been locked down. There's a demand to increase the commission, stating that they are only getting ₹90 per quintal and asking for it to be increased to ₹250.

Ration distribution will be affected in Bhopal and throughout the state starting Wednesday. The Madhya Pradesh Ration Seller Association has announced a strike from October 1st to 7th. This includes approximately 26,000 fair price shops across the state, including 400 in Bhopal. During this period, ration distribution will not take place. Shopkeepers say that they receive a commission of ₹90 per quintal for ration distribution in their state, while neighboring states offer between ₹200 and ₹250 per quintal.
