Continuous rain has filled the Samrat Ashok Sagar dam to 77.56%, and Betwa is 20 feet below the danger mark. The administration has issued an alert at river ghats.
The monsoon has been active in the Vidisha district for the past two days. Light rain started on Friday morning and continued until Saturday. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in the district. On Friday, an average of 21 mm of rainfall was recorded in the district. Since June 1st, the district has received a total of 698.8 mm of rainfall, which is approximately 65 percent of the normal annual rainfall of 1075.50 mm. Due to continuous rain, the water level of the Samrat Ashok Sagar Dam has also increased.
