Bhopal has witnessed its first transgender woman's gender-affirming bottom surgery: an 8-hour operation, marking the first such surgery in the state's government hospitals.

A successful gender-affirming bottom surgery has been performed on a transgender woman at AIIMS Bhopal. According to the institute, this is the first surgery of its kind to be conducted in government hospitals in Madhya Pradesh. The complex surgery, which lasted approximately eight hours, involved the surgical manipulation of the genital area to reshape the patient's body in accordance with their gender identity. The operation was performed with the patient's consent and request. After the surgery, they are in a satisfactory condition.
