Heavy rains in MP, river levels rise, bridges submerged: 9 gates of Bargi opened; water is also being released from Johila and Bilgaon dams.

The torrential rains that have been lashing the Dindori and Umaria areas for the past three days have caused a rise in the water levels of the Narmada River and its tributaries. The Jogi Tikariya bridge in Dindori is still submerged, which has disrupted traffic on Jabalpur-Amarkantak National Highway 45 for the last seven hours. Two gates of the Bilgaon Dam located in Shahpura, Dindori, are being opened. Meanwhile, two gates of the Johila Dam at the Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Plant in Umaria have been opened by two meters each.
