The ownership scheme, which grants ownership rights to houses in villages, has started free registry 25 days later. Following opposition from Patwaris and Tehsildars, the government has made changes to the rules. Now, Patwaris will register as authorized government officials, not as individuals. Property holders will be held responsible for concealing information about old disputes related to houses or land. On Monday, 5723 registrations took place in the state and 46 in Bhopal.
