Uproar in Bhopal's Shahi Cemetery over the metro route: MLA asks officials to halt work; hearing underway in the Waqf Board.

Congress MLA Atif Aqeel has once again raised objections regarding the underground route of the Orange Line Phase-2 of the Bhopal Metro. Late Monday night, the metro team reached the Shahi Qabrastan (graveyard) located near Bhopal Talkies and started barricading. Upon receiving this information, the MLA reached the spot and asked the metro and police officials to stop the work. The MLA told the officials that no work should be carried out on the graveyard land without permission.
