In Shahdol, an outsourced lineman has been hanged: relatives say he was tortured by the AE (Assistant Engineer); he was under stress after being fired from his job without notice.

Sachin Pandey, a 28-year-old outsourced lineman, committed suicide by hanging himself in Mau village of Shahdol district. Sachin was employed with the electricity department through a security company based in Bhopal. His family has accused Basant Gupta, an Assistant Engineer (AE) in the electricity department, of harassing him and firing him from his job without notice. The lineman's wife, Anuradha Pandey, stated that he had been under stress since losing his job and that AE Basant Gupta had been mentally harassing Sachin for the past few days.
