The NGT has formed a 5-member joint investigation committee to investigate the illegal construction, filling, and commercial activities in the catchment area of the large lake and the FTL. The committee will conduct an on-the-spot investigation and submit a factual and action taken report within six weeks. The next hearing will be held on December 10, 2026. A bench comprising NGT Justice Sheo Kumar Singh and expert member Sudhir Kumar Chaturvedi constituted the committee with members from the CPCB, MPPCB, Bhopal Collector, State Wetland Authority, and others.
