In Narmadapuram, the women who formed the MDM (Matru Shakti Mahila Samiti) spent their night on a hunger strike, singing bhajans under the open sky. They said they would only rest after their demands were met.

In the Narmadapuram district, women from self-help groups (chef's association) who prepare mid-day meals (MDM) for government primary/secondary schools and anganwadis are on a hunger strike. The protest began at 12 pm on Monday at Peepal Chowk and is set to continue for the second day, Tuesday. For the entire night, around 50 women sat under the open sky without any hindrance. They spent their nights singing bhajans. During this time, two police teams were deployed for their safety.
