Heavy rainfall today in Jabalpur and other 22 districts of Madhya Pradesh: Strong system active; to reach Bhopal, Gwalior-Ujjain from tomorrow; schools and colleges closed in Satna.

A strong monsoon system is active in the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh - Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol, and Sagar divisions. This has led to flooding in several districts. The situation is worst in Satna. In Chitrakoot, the Mandakini River is flowing above the danger mark. On Tuesday, around 400 shops and 20-25 hotels were submerged in Ramghat. Due to heavy rainfall, all schools, colleges, and anganwadis in Satna have been declared closed on September 2nd and 3rd.
