An NRI defrauded a young woman of ₹7.5 lakh, and six people were arrested: transactions worth ₹11 crore in six months, using 150 fake accounts and SIM cards; ₹22 lakh frozen.

A case of fraud involving a young woman being cheated out of ₹7.5 lakh through a matrimonial site has come to light in Mandsaur, India's Bhopal region. Police have arrested 6 accused members of an interstate cyber fraud gang. According to the police, the accused contacted the young woman by posing as NRIs. They gained her trust by using fake photos and identifying themselves as relatives, then offered a marriage proposal under the pretext of sending expensive gifts from abroad, and subsequently charged her for customs duty and other fees.
