Bhopal: Yesterday was 'No UPI Day': rice and lentil traders in Bhopal protested against MDR charges and will not accept payments.

In the capital city of Bhopal, traders will once again observe a 'No-UPI Day' on Thursday in protest against UPI charges. Wholesale rice and pulse traders will hold this symbolic demonstration, pledging not to accept payments exceeding ₹2,000 online. Vivek Sahu, General Secretary of the Bhopal Grocery Traders Federation, stated that UPI has become the simplest, fastest, and most convenient payment method for both businesses and the general public today. However, the imposition of MDR charges on UPI will adversely affect small and medium businesses.
