Uttarkashi: The first helicopter rescue operation, which was conducted at an altitude of 20,000 feet, successfully evacuated 67 mountaineers from the Gangotri Himalayas. This marked India's first successful helicopter rescue operation in the region, where teams used the services of UKADA to safely rescue 67 people from peaks located at an altitude of approximately 20,000 feet above sea level. The two-day operation saw the teams successfully evacuate 67 people with the help of UKADA's helicopter services. Prior to this, in August, an army helicopter had also evacuated 18 people from the Ladakh region.
