Waste-to-energy plants will be set up in 4 cities of Haryana, producing 50 megawatts of electricity from 5,000 tons of waste. An MoU has been signed between the government and Oil India for this project.

The Haryana government has taken a major step towards waste management and green energy. In the presence of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Nuh between the Urban Local Bodies of Haryana and Oil Green Energy Limited, an associate unit of Oil India Limited, a venture of the Government of India. Under this scheme, waste-to-energy plants will be set up in four major cities of the state: Ambala, Hisar, Faridabad, and Gurugram.
