A case has emerged in Ambala where a lawyer was defrauded of ₹6 lakh 30 thousand by promising to provide Canadian dollars (CAD) at cheap rates. Following an investigation by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) and the Superintendent of Police's office, the Baldev Nagar police station registered a case against the accused under sections 316(2) and 318(4) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The fraud of promising Canadian dollars at cheap rates took place in Ambala city.
