NGT is strict on Panipat thermal power station: Three units are emitting excessive sulfur dioxide, notice issued to Haryana government and PTPS.
The Principal Bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has taken a serious note of the violation of sulfur dioxide emission norms in Units 6, 7, and 8 of the Panipat Thermal Power Station (PTPS). A bench comprising NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Srivastava and Expert Member Dr. Afroz Ahmed issued notices to all relevant respondents, including the Haryana government and the power station administration, seeking their responses while hearing the case.
