A social media friend defrauded a woman of ₹1.02 lakh, claiming he had come from London to give her a gift. The Delhi Police caught him and asked her to transfer the money.

A case of cyber fraud has come to light in Indore, India, where a woman was defrauded by social media friends. The accused claimed to have traveled from London to India and promised expensive gifts. Later, he transferred ₹47,000 initially, threatening the victim with Customs and Delhi Police repercussions. Subsequently, he extorted another ₹55,000 by threatening to make her videos viral on social media. In total, the accused transferred ₹1 lakh 2 thousand. Based on the victim's complaint, the Indore police have launched an investigation.
