BE student falls victim to fraud from fake calls: ₹1.30 lakh swindled in the name of stopping protection fees; money transferred to Amazon merchant as soon as OTP entered.

A case of online cyber fraud has come to light in the Palasia police station area of Indore, India. Miscreants deceived a student by promising to deactivate his credit card's protection fee and then had him enter an OTP. Subsequently, ₹130,000 was transferred from the credit card to an Amazon merchant account. After receiving a complaint from the cyber helpline, Palasia police have registered an FIR against unknown accused and started investigation. Axis Bank
