The path is clear for the Gopal Mandir Road widening for Simhastha: both petitions against removing the 100-year-old Shahi Masjid have been rejected; now the corporation will take action.

As part of the preparations for Simhastha Mahaparva 2028, road widening work is progressing rapidly in Ujjain. The Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Wednesday dismissed both petitions filed against the removal of a nearly 100-year-old royal mosque that was coming under consideration for widening the Gopal Mandir Marg. A single bench of Justice Sandeep N. Bhatt heard both cases together and, after hearing arguments from both parties, dismissed the petitions.
