In Shajapur, the electricity department launched an intensive checking campaign on Wednesday to prevent electricity theft. A special team from Indore, along with local electricity department officials, inspected smart meters installed in different areas of the city. During this operation, 11 domestic and commercial consumers were caught stealing electricity. The investigation revealed several methods of electricity theft. In some places, consumers were directly using electricity by inserting wires into the system.
