The Indore Metro management has a strange argument: they will cut down 160 trees and plant new ones, but the birds here will just sit there instead.

"We are planting twice as many trees. Once the trees are cut down, parrots will fly and perch on another tree. When our planted trees grow bigger, the parrots will return to them." This strange argument was made by the metro management on Tuesday in the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The hearing is regarding the proposed removal of approximately 160 old trees for the underground metro station in the Rani Sarai area and the destruction of the homes of thousands of parrots living on them.
