In Madhya Pradesh, the government is going to spend Rs 3,800 crore for the free registration of land for a population of 50 lakh people. The government's argument is that this will enable people to get bank loans, but according to the revenue department's records, 2,102 beneficiaries who have received ownership records under the Swamitva scheme have already taken loans of a total of Rs 175 crore 57 lakh 8 thousand 919 from banks. Some of these land plots have loans worth crores of rupees registered against them.
