Although Indore ranked second in the country in the Clean Air Survey, the air quality here has improved significantly over the past three years. In 2022-23, the particulate matter (PM-10) level in the atmosphere had reached 109 micrograms per cubic meter, which has now decreased to 81. This represents a reduction of 25.7 percent, but it is still below the Central Pollution Control Board's annual standard of 60 micrograms per cubic meter by 21 micrograms (approximately 35 ppm).
