The Municipal Corporation is spending an average of 2 lakh rupees every day on removing encroachments from the city. In three years, it has spent 22 crore rupees on this. However, it has not been able to permanently free major markets and roads from encroachments. The situation is such that even in places where the corporation team reached five times each, carts and shops have once again been set up on the roads and footpaths.
