Today is UPI Day: Traders in major markets will conduct sales of less than ₹2000 only in cash.

On Wednesday, traders in Rajbada and other major markets around Indore will observe a 'No UPI Day'. In protest against the 0.4 percent fee levied on UPI transactions exceeding ₹2000, traders will cover their UPI scanners and sound boxes with black cloth and only accept cash payments. In August 2026, there were 93.3 million UPI transactions worth ₹11,329 crore in Indore, out of which approximately ₹2265 crore was paid through UPI.
