The first train to run in Tanda after independence: The city of Dhar is still waiting; the goal is to start the train by the end of 2026.

In Tanda, Dhar district, train service has commenced for the first time since independence. With the introduction of trains from Tanda via Jobat to Pratapnagar in Gujarat, the dream of rail connectivity in the tribal areas of the district has been fulfilled. Now, all eyes are on Dhar city as a railway station becomes accessible. Work is underway in Dhar, Pithampur, and surrounding areas under the Indore-Dahod Rail Project. The track laying work up to Dhar has progressed significantly. A trial run between Pithampur and Dhar has also taken place.
