Traders in Madhya Pradesh have intensified their protests amidst preparations to impose a 0.4% Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) on UPI merchant payments exceeding ₹2000 from October 15th. The impact of this could be gauged from the UPI transactions between Bhopal and Indore, which amounted to ₹17,963 crore in August alone.
