24,500 Rupees Swindled From An Orphanage Under The Pretense Of Marriage: Women In Gwalior Were Looking For Brides For Their Sons And Brothers After Seeing An Advertisement On Facebook

Two women from Gwalior fell victim to cyber fraud after seeing an advertisement on social media about getting married to an orphan from an ashram. The fraudsters transferred ₹24,500 in installments online from women looking for brides for their sons and relatives. When the women asked to be connected to the bride via video call before the wedding, the accused blocked their numbers. The victims have filed a complaint with the cyber helpline number 1930 and the police.
