In Khandwa, the Panchayat Secretary demanded a bribe of 50,000 rupees in exchange for reducing the school's property tax for two years. In this case, the Lokayukta team in Indore arrested Krishna Dev Patel, the secretary of Gram Panchayat Nahalda, on Friday. The team caught him red-handed while accepting 25,000 rupees from the complainant in front of a tea stall near Medical Chauraha. The Lokayukta seized the bribe amount and initiated a case against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
