Out of 292, 172 tested positive for swine flu; virus mutation to be investigated in Pune.

Cases of swine flu, i.e., H1N1 virus infection, are continuously being reported in Indore, India. From August 1st to September 10th, a total of 292 samples from private and government hospitals were received for testing at the virology lab of the microbiology department at MGM Medical College. Out of these, 172 samples tested positive for H1N1 (Influenza-A). The symptoms of swine flu are similar to those of common cold and cough. Doctors say that there is no need to panic about it.
