Injury to greenery: The Chorla forest will be cut down from October; 2.5 lakh trees will be cleared in 3 years.

A large-scale tree felling campaign will begin in the forests of Choral from October for the railway line. The forest department and the railways have issued death warrants for this purpose. The cutting down of approximately two and a half lakh trees is expected to continue over the next three years. After such a large-scale cutting, a space larger than the Dussehra ground will be required to store the wood that emerges. To transport the wood out of the forest, 25 trucks will be deployed, which will make thousands of trips.
