The incident came to light when temple servitors arrived for worship in the morning. Upon receiving the information, police registered a case and initiated an investigation. Dilip Jain, who has been working as a sevadar at the temple for the past 20 years, stated that he was performing bhajan-kirtan around 2 am on the night of September 16th when the theft occurred.
