Displaced people from Sardar Sarovar received two leases on one plot each: a dispute of double allocation in 20 cases out of the district's 39 settlements.

Displaced people from the Sardar Sarovar project in Barwani are still making rounds of government offices for their rights. Thirty-nine resettlement settlements have been established in the district. The administration had received approximately 6,500 applications for registration of residential plots, out of which about 2,000 registrations have been completed. However, a dispute is surfacing regarding old records. This matter came to light on Thursday in Kasba Barwani No. 2 in the Kukra area.
