Reportedly, the ropeway project has been stalled for four years due to compensation issues related to the forest department's dilapidated cottage, despite being offered double the land.

The proposed ropeway at Janapav, the birthplace of Lord Parshuram, costing Rs 19.54 crore to facilitate devotees and tourists, has not been able to move forward for four years. The lower terminal of the ropeway requires 1.34 hectares of forest land, in exchange for which the tourism department has already provided 2.68 hectares of land in Narmadapuram district. This means that even after providing double the land, the matter is stuck on the compensation for five cottages and a kitchen shed of the forest department.
