New condition for hospitals in Ayushman Yojana: NABH is mandatory in 4 cities including Bhopal-Indore; only 310 out of 739 hospitals have the certificate.

In Madhya Pradesh, a new condition is being implemented from October 1, 2026, for hospitals affiliated with the Ayushman Bharat 'Niramayam' scheme. NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Healthcare Providers) certification will be mandatory for hospitals in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur that are associated with the Ayushman scheme. This rule was initially scheduled to come into effect from April 1st, but to give hospitals time to prepare, its date has been extended by six months to October 1st.
