Power cuts in the city, angry villagers block highway: A 5 km long traffic jam on the Indore-Bhopal highway, relented after assurances from officials.

In the rural areas of Sehore district, villagers in Barkhedi protested on Tuesday against the unscheduled power cuts on the Indore-Bhopal four-lane highway. The villagers blocked the road, causing traffic jams on both sides for about 5 kilometers. The villagers were upset due to the daily 2 to 3 hours of power cuts during Navratri. Administrative officials assured them that there would be no unscheduled power cuts from the next day.
