Due to heavy rains in Dindori, the gate of Bilgaon Dam was opened, releasing 6.89 cumec of water. Warning bells were sounded in lower-lying villages for safety.

The drizzle that started in Dindori on Wednesday night continued until Thursday. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the district. So far, about 70 percent of normal rainfall has occurred in the district. Amidst the continuous rain, one gate of the Bilgaon Dam in Shahpura development block was opened up to 10 centimeters on Thursday morning. Amit Uike, Executive Engineer of the Water Resources Department, said that 6.89 cumec water is being released into the catchment area due to the rainfall.
